Abstract

Seed samples of thirty-two widely cultivated cultivars of corn were collected and investigated in Liaoning Province, and seed-borne fungi were isolated and identified.By moist chamber method and the PSA plate method,14 genera of seed-borne fungi were detected, they are Acremonium,Actinomucor,Alternaria,Aspergillus,Bipolaris,Chaetomium,Epicoccum,Fusarium,Gonatobotrys,Mucor,Nigrospora,Penicillium,Rhizopus and Trichoderma.Among them the most frequently isolated fungus was Fusarium, with isolation ratio of up to 90%,the following were Penicillium,Aspergillus and Trichoderma by using moist chamber method. However,Penicillium and Aspergillus are more familiar than Fusarium and Chaetonium in PSA plate method, the others were only isolated from one or several varieties.
