On the Tourism in the Tang Dynasty from Liu Zongyuan's Poems and Essays

Owing to the change of traffic environment,the adoption of imperial examination system,the development of handicraft industry and commerce,the variation of tourism idea and the religion culture,the scholar-officials in the Tang dynasty formed an atmosphere of advocating and loving tourism.The tourism can divide into the tourism for seeking official posts of mid-upper level officials and that for knowledge of lower level scholars.The spectacular event of two kinds of tourism reflected that tourism had become a part of the people's social life in the Tang dynasty. So tourism of the Tang dynasty had an important position in the history of the development of tourism culture in China.
