Application effect of cluster nursing in patients with ventilator associated pneumonia in ICU

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the application effect of cluster nursing in patients with ventilator associated pneumonia(VAP) in ICU. Methods 102 patients with mechanical ventilation in ICU of our hospital from January 2014 to January 2015 were analyzed. Patients were divided into observation group(n=51) and control group(n=51) according to different nursing measures.The observation group was given cluster nursing,the control group was given routine nursing.The effect of eliminating phlegm,index of blood gas analysis,condition of VAP and index of time was compared between two groups. Results The total efficacy of eliminating phlegm in observation group was 94.12%,which was higher than78.43% of control group.Among index of blood gas analysis,the levels of p H and PaCO2 in observation group were lower than those in control group,while levels of PaO2 and SpO2 were higher than those in control group.The rate of VAP occurrence and death in observation group were lower than those in control group.The time of mechanic ventilation and the time in ICU in observation group were shorter than those in control group.The differences were statistical significance(P 0.05). Conclusion Cluster nursing measures can effectively prevent VAP,decrease the death rate of patients with mechanic ventilation.It is worth popularizing in clinical.
