Abstract

Ethyl ester of soybean oil was prepared through transesterification of soybean oil and ethanol catalyzed by KOH.The factors of catalyst amount, methanol to oil molar ratio, reaction temperature, reaction time on the conversion of ethyl ester of soybean oil were optimized under Box-Behnken mode of response surface method (RSM). The result showed that optimum reaction conditions were 1.3% KOH with 8.3∶1 methanol to oil molar ratio at 74.8℃ for 130 minutes. The conversion rate of soybean oil was 98.93% in this condition.
