Abstract
Objective To study the diagnostic value of carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA),interferon-γ(IFN-γ)and adenosine deaminase(ADA) in differentiating tuberculous and malignant pleural effusions by detecting their expression in the pleural effusions. Methods 70 cases of pleural effusion were selected, including tuberculous pleural effusion in 32 cases and malignant pleural effusion in 38 cases respectively, the expression of carcinoembryonic antigen,interferon-γ and adenosine deaminase in the pleural effusions was examined by using ELISA and colorimetric analysis. Results Diagnosis of malignant pleural effusion CEA sensitivity, specificity and accuracy were 76.32%,87.50% and 81.43%.ADA and INF-γ diagnosis of tuberculous pleural effusion, sensitivity, specificity and accuracy were 78.13%,81.58%,80.00% and 90.63%,97.37%,94.29%.Combined detection of malignant and tuberculous pleural effusion, sensitivity, specificity and accuracy were 94.74%,96.88%,95.71% and 93.75%,97.37%,95.71%.Conclusion Combine detection of CEA,IFN-γ and ADA can diagnosis tuberculous and malignant pleural effusions.
