Abstract

Purpose To investigate the MSCT manifestations of parotid.Materials and Methods The CT characteristics of 16 cases with operation and pathology confirmed adenolymphomas were reviewe. Results All 16 patients were male with history of smokingt.A total of 18 lesions were found including 14 solitary and 2 multiple lesions.15 adenolymphoma located in the posterior and inferior quadrant of the parotid gland. On MSCT,lesions were round, oval or lobulated in shape, cystic or cystosolid and well-defined.Most adenolymphomas showed strong enhancement in arterial phase(100Hu,mean increase=64Hu) with decreased attenuation in venous phase after contrast administration.Vascular notch sign was present in 14 lesions. Conclusion Adenolymphoma of the parotid has certain clinical and imaging characteristics.CT value above 100Hu in the arterial phase after contrast administration and the vascular notch around the tumor support the diagnosis of adenolymphomas.
