Abstract
A new catalytic photometric method for the determination of formaldehyde was developed. It was based on the fact that the oxidation of bromocresol purple by potassium bromate was catalyzed by formaldehyde in phosphoric acid medium, the calibration curve showed linearity in the range from 0.2~8 mg/L and the minimum of detection was 2.0×10~-4g/L. It was applied to the determination of trace amounts of formaldehyde in Hydro-products, and gave results as accurate as those by HPLC.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
