Abstract

The gravitational sedimentation characteristics of phosphoric acid slurry were studied by adding polyacrylamide with different dosages.By comparing the effects of polyacrylamide flocculants with different molecular weights (the molecular weight of polyacrylamide A was about 3,000,000 and that of polyacrylamide B was about 8,000,000) on the sedimentation performance of phosphoric acid slurries, some conclusions were made as follows:When polyacrylamide B was added with dosage of 10 ppm and the temperature was controlled at about 60oC,the best sedimentation performance could be obtained. The results provided some guidance for the improvement of separation efficiency of the wet-process phosphoric acid slurry and the selection of separation machines.
