Abstract

[Objective]To compare the difference of levels of blood lead, urine lead and hemoglobin between workers with lead exposure and workers without lead exposure, and understand the health status of workers with long-term lead exposure.[Methods]Level determination of blood lead, urine lead and hemoglobin were performed on 400 workers with lead exposure and 120 workers without lead exposure from a storage battery factory in Tianjin in 2009.The results were analyzed statistically.[Results]Hemoglobin levels in lead-exposed workers were lower than those in non lead-exposed workers, while the blood lead, urine lead levels were significantly higher than those in non lead-exposed workers(P0.01).The blood lead level was negatively associated with the hemoglobin level(r =-0.442).The relevance between urine lead level and blood lead, hemoglobin level is not ideal respectively(r values were-0.026 and-0.018).[Conclusion]Long-term low lead exposure can induce blood lead and urine lead levels elevated. While the decrease of lead with severe fluctuation of urine lead are induced by many factors,so these indexes can not accurately reflect the lead volume in the body and have less correlation with other indexes.
