Abstract

For the study of cottonseed oil under different storage conditions, the change trend which contains free gossypol content, the researcher takes Xinjiang cottonseed as the raw material, hexane and 95% ethanol as solvent in order to extract cottonseed oil. The researcher uses high performance liquid chromatography as the method to detect the content of free gossypol in cottonseed oil, which stored under different conditions, the purpose is to compare the content level and trend of free gossypol in cottonseed oil extracted by using two different extraction solvents, as well as studied the effect of temperature, light and stored time on the content of free gossypol in cottonseed oil. The result shows that the degradation trends of free gossypol in two kinds of extraction solvents are similar. Moreover, storage time, temperature and light are all factors affecting the stability of free gossypol, especially for the influence of the temperature. Free gossypol in cottonseed oil is very unstable, easily degraded. Currently detection the content of free gossypol in listed cottonseed oil is difficult to reflect the detoxification of gossypol, to deal with the degradation of free gossypol further research will help to establish a more scientific and comprehensive evaluation method.
