Abstract

Objective To investigate the changes of the contents of glutamate(Glu)、 gama-aminobutyric(GABA),serum IL-2,IL-6 and TNF-α in epileptic rats induced by sophoridien(SRI).Methods We establish epileptic rats model induced by SRI with intraperitoneal injection. The levels of serum TNF-α,IL-2 and IL-6 of each group were assayed by radioimmuoassay(RIA).Meanwhile we measured the contents of glutamate(Glu) and gama-aminobutyric(GABA) of the hippocampus by immunohistochemistry. Results The levels of serum TNF-α,IL-2 and IL-6 were significantly higher in model group than those in control group(P0.01).Glu positive cells in hippocampus in model group were more than those in control group.Furthermore,GABA positive cells in model group were less than those in control group(P0.05).Conclusion TNF-α,IL-2 and IL-6 may be involved in the pathogenesis of epilepsy.Neurotransmitter balance disorderin of the Glu and GABA may be the base of pathogenesis of epilepsy.
