Investigation on Knowledge and Need on High Quality Nursing Service

Objective To realize the degree of understanding from hospitalized patients about high quality nursing service and to improve nursing service based on the patient's evaluation,so as to further promote the sustainable development of high quality nursing service.Methods By convenience sampling method, we recruited 410 inpatients in Changhai hospital from January to March 2011.Using self-designed questionnaire, participants were investigated the knowledge and needs about high quality nursing service as well as satisfaction of nursing service among these inpatients.All data were processed by Stata professional statistical software.Results Only 29.9%of hospitalized patients heard the statement of high quality nursing service and the explanation from the nurse is the main way of their understanding;96.57%of the inpatients believed that observation of illness change and appropriate measures was the best reflects of high quality nursing service;59.66%of the patients thought that nursing psychological guidance provides them help;82.35%of the patients were satisfied with high quality nursing service.Conclusion Hospitalized patients get a single way and less chance to know high quality nursing service.The requirement in ability of observation on patient' s illness is comparatively higher.Effective psychological nursing can relieve patients' pressure.The sustainable development of high quality nursing service needs the concern and supports from the medical field and the whole society.
