Clinical analysis of 18 cases with increased platelets after the operation for spleen rupture

ObjectiveTo inquire into the procedure and treatment of the platelets increase after the operation for spleen rupture. MethodsThe clinical data of 18cases, whose platelets increased to 52079010~9/L after the operation for spleen rupture, were retrospectively analyzed. ResultsOf the 18 cases, the platelets began to increase at the second day after the splenectomy and got to the peak values at the 12 weeks after the operations. When the platelets increased to over than 38010~9/L, corresponding treatment were adopted, and the platelets decreased to normal level after 3 weeks of the treatment. ConclusionThe spleen-reserving splenectomy should be adopted as far as possible to the cases with traumatic spleen rupture. When the platelets increased to over than 38010~9/L after the splenectomy, corresponding treatment should be applied to prevent venous thrombosis.
