Abstract

[Objective] The aim was to study the properties of sodium dodecyl sulfate/n-butanol/cyclohexane/water microemulsion.[Method]Phase diagrams of the sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)/n-butanol/cyclohexane/water system at 25 ℃ were mapped out.The conduction activation energies(Ea)of W/O microemulsion in system were estimated from electric conductivity data of microemulsion at different temperatures.Variations of activation energy with water content of microemulsion were determined. The structural parameters, change of standard free energy for hexanol to transfer from the continuous phase to the interfacial membranes for W/O type microemulsion were calculated by means of dilution method.[Result]The results showed that variations of Ea with water content in W/O microemulsion were closely related to the occurrence of the percolation conduction phenomena. The water nucleus radius Rw increases and the free energy ΔGc-i reduces with the increase of water content.[Conclusion] The study provided theoretical basis for development and study on microemulsion.
