Abstract

Ontology is an important part of semantic network today.Lots of languages are used to represent ontologies.OWL is one of them.The paper introduces the Web ontology language OWL,which is defined by W3C.OWL has great semantic capability of describing ontologies.Furthermore,based-on the description logic,OWL can be used to reason and obtain much more information.This paper gives a simple example to explain the reasoning process.
