Antihypertensive Effects of Nifedipine GITS and Nifedipine SR on Patients with Essential Hypertension

Objective To observe the antihypertensive efficacy and influence on biochemistry index of Nifedipine sustained release(SR)and Nifedipine gastro-intestinal therapeutic system(GITS).Methods The subjects in this study consisted of 132 hypertensive patients(grade 2).The 132 hypertensive patients were averagely divided to two groups:Nifedipinc SR group (A group,66 cases)and Nifedipine GITS group(B group,66 cases).The patients of A group were treated with Nifedipinc SR,PO,tid,10mg every time,The patients of B group were treated with Nifedipine GITS,PO,qd,30mg every time.ABPM were done after 6 weeks,and the blood pressure and the 24h average blood pressure were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.And the untoward reaction in two groups patients were observed.Results Blood pressure before treatment between the two groups no statistically significant difference(P0.05); group B after treatment in patients with systolic and diastolic blood pressure,and 24 h average systolic and mean diastolic blood pressure compared with the A group,the differences were statistically significant(P0.05); and the two groups after treatment compared with those before treatment the above-mentioned indicators,differences were also statistically significant(P0.01).And the untoward reaction rates had no difference between two groups.Conclusion Nifedipine SR and nifedipine GITS can effectively lower blood pressure,antihypertensive effect,but the latter is more efficient,stable and safe.
