STUDIES ON ADJUSTING THE STRUCTURE OF MARINE CATCHING OF SHANDONG PROVINCE

The paper discusses the great achievement that China has made in marine fishery in the past fifty years and analyses the development of marine fishery, the change of catch, the change of fishing boats in quantity and structure, the fishing gears and fishing methods in Shandong Province. It points out the main problems of Shandong's marine fishing. These in clude seriously declining fishery resources, excessive fishing and irrational fishing structure, the singleness of fishing mode, the severity of international fishery situation etc. As a result, the paper puts forward suggestions on adjusting the marine catching structure of Shandong Province, which are reducing the total power of fishing boats to 76×104kw, substituting fishing boats made of glass fibre reinforced plastics for fishing boats made of wood and developing ocean fishing boats properly.
