Abstract

CMS22A was a double low cytoplasmic male sterile line in Brassica napus, bred in 1997 in Institute of Cotton Oil Crops of Henan Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Its cytoplasmic male sterility was derived from CMS384A (a double-low cytoplasmic male sterile line). CMS22A belongs to typical anther spoilable sterile type, its anthers spoiled completely,♂/♀0.5,its petals stretch normally, the male sterile was stable(over 99%). The cytoplasmic male sterile of CMS22A belongs to complete sterile type, and its male sterile is derived from the interaction of a cytoplasmic sterile gene with a pair of recessive nucleuc genes.Therefore,CMS22A has good stability on male sterility, high combining ability, good resistant to diseases and good quality in oil and meal.
