Abstract

ObjectiveTo explore the causes of spontaneous intracranial hemorrhage in patients with Moyamoya' s disease(MMD).Methods21 cases of MMD patients who had been confirmed by cerebral angiography(2003-2005) in our hospital and 54 patients with MMD reported in literatures were retrospectively analyzed.ResultsAmong 75 patients,CT shows that MMD patients devoloped intracerebral hemorrhage in 47 cases, intraventricular hemorrhage in 22 cases and subarachnoid hemorrhage in 6 cases. All 6 cases of MMD patients with SAH were accompanied with aneurysms which were confirmed by cerebral angiography.ConclusionsThe patients suffered from MMD often developed intracerebral hemorrhage and/or intraventricular hemorrhage.we should be alerted the existence of saccular aneurysm in MMD patients suffered from subarachnoid hemorrhage that its main cause was the rupture of accular aneurysms which located in the main artery of Willis circle.
