Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical value of Lens culinaris agglutinin-reactive diagnosis between benign and malignant liver diseases,as well as the early warning of hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods lpha-fetoprotein variants from 200 patients with liver diseases were isolated with micro-spin column equipped lens culinaris agglutinin(LCA).The AFP and AFP-L3 were detected by the electrochemical luminescence(ECL)method, and the proportions of AFP-L3 were calculated. Results The positive rate and the mean level of AFP-L3 either in the patients with primary liver cancer or in the patients with primay live cancer whose AFP(200ng/ml)were statistic significantly different from the patients with chronic hepatitis or cirrhosis of liver(p0.001).However,in the groups of primary liver cancer, there was no significant difference of the serum mean level and the positive rate of AFP-L3 among the groups of different AFP concentration(P0.05).Conclusions The detection of AFP-L3 by micro-spin column assay show great clinical value in the differentiation diagnosis of benign and malignant liver diseases,as well as the early waming of,hepatocellular Carcinoma.
