Use of viscoelastic in repair of corneal penetrating injury

Objective To investigate the effects of viscoelastic solution in the repairs of corneal penetrating injuries.Methods 52 eyes with repairs of corneal penetrating injuries were retrospectively studied.14 eyes were simply corneal penetrating injuries repairation.18 eyes were corneal penetrating injuries repairation and iridial injuries reconstruction.20 eyes were corneal penetrating injuries repairation and phacoemulsifacation with IOL implantation.Results All cases were recovered well.postoperative visual acuities were 0.05-0.25 in 17 eyes.0.3-0.5 in 28 eyes.0.5-0.8 in 7 eyes.Conclusions viscoelastic can be used in repairing of corneal penetrating injury to form operative room,protect tissues in eyes.
