Abstract
The view of body and soul and that of artistic conception are core categories of ancient Chinese painting, both of which can generalize the aesthetic spirit and characteristics of ancient Chinese painting. As both of them originated from figure painting, and were the aesthetics requirement of figure painting at the early stage, they have many resemblances. But a careful comparison will find that the aesthetic connotation of the view of artistic conception is richer than that of body and soul. This paper will explore them in depth.
