Abstract
This paper reports studies on synthesis of butyl acetate with solid - supported rare - earthmetal sulphate as catalyst. The solid - supported catalysts are man - made zeolite, active carbon and cation - exchange resin. The best catalyst for synthesis of butyl acetate is found to be the cation - exchange resin supported rare - earth metal sulphate. The yield is 97.2% . The properties of the catalyst is also discussed.
