Abstract

Based upon the analysis of the productive efficiency and return to scale in China's telecommunication industry by the DEA method, this paper analyses the dynamic efficiency based on the Malmquist index approach. The empirical results indicate that it is the improvement in technical efficiency rather than technical progress that is the primary factor which promotes the growth in productivity, and competition can be used to improve the technical efficiency and the productivity growth.
