A Discussion of the Maladministration of Emperor Zhu Youtang

While Emperor Zhu Youtang was in power,he took some positive measures to correct the maladministration of the former emperor,and made the Ming Dynasty a flourishing age.Influenced by the traditional ideas and his own experiences,he still made some mistakes in administration during the Hong Zhi period,such as putting his trust in powerful chancellors and eunuchs,giving unprincipled protection both to his wife's relatives and his,indulging in Buddhism and Taoism and court entertainment.All of these maladies not only had a negative impact on the present dynasty,but also foreshadowed the later emperor Zhu Houzhao' corruption.
