Abstract
This paper was an attempt to investigate cadmium bioaccumulation in Mytilus edulis and the effect of the Mytilus edulis on cadmium accumulation.In various cadmium solutions,the cadmium accumulation in the Mytilus edulis increases with the extension of feeding time.After 12 days(288 h),the cadmium concentration in the seawater was 0.2 mg/L,the bioaccumulation amount in the Mytilus edulis was 73.64 mg/kg dry wt.If copper existed in the solution,after 10 days,the cadmium accumulation in the Mytilus edulis of experiment was 7.36 mg/kg dry wt higher than the control experiment,so copper ion has the positive effect on the Mytilus edulis of cadmium accumulation.
