Abstract
Based on the method of DEA,this paper evaluates the innovation efficiency of Chinese provinces. The main conclusions are as follows:Regional innovation efficiency in our country increased from 1998-2005,but also fluctuated; after 2000,the innovation efficiency of the eastern region is lower than that in the central and western regions because of the lower pure technical efficiency. In terms of scale efficiency, there is a large margin to promote the pure technical efficiency of our country and regions, and the increase of pure technical efficiency is important to the construction of innovation-oriented country.Technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency reflect convergence nationwide and the catch-up effect in the backward areas is obvious.
