Abstract
AIM To evaluate the therapeutic effect of Saffower Yellow and sodium chloride injection on acute exacerbation of chronic pulmonary heart disease at high altitude.METHODS Eighty patients with chronic pulmonary heart disease were randomly divided into two groups,40 patients in the control group consisting of 26 males and 14 females(age(66±7)year)and 40 patients in the treatment group consisting of 28 males and 12 females(age(67±7)year).The control group were treated by conventional therapy,and the patients in the treatment group were administered with Saffower Yellower and sodium chloride injection(80mg iv drip, qd)and conventional therapy for 14 days.Clinical effects were observed,arterial blood gas analysis was performed,and pulmonary artery pressure was monitored before and after the treatment.RESULTS The total effective rate was 88%in the treatment group,which was significantly higher than that in the control group (68%)(P0.05).The p_aCO_2 decreased by(27±15)and(10±14)mmHg,while the p_aO_2 increased by (25±10)and(8±12)mmHg in the treatment group and control group respectively,there were significant differences between two groups(P0.05,P0.01)。The improvement of heart rate and respiratory rate in treatment group were better than those in the control group(P0.05,P0.01).The SPAP and MPAP decreased by(36±18)and(30±15)mmHg in the treatment group,(1±19)and(0±15)mmHg in the control group,which were much better in the treatment group than the control group(P0.05,P0.01). There was only one patients with slight headache in the treatment group.CONCLUSION Saffower Yellower and sodium chloride injection can improve clinical symptom and decrease pulmonary artery pressure and is effective and safe in patients with chronic pulmonary heart disease at high altitude.
