Abstract
A complex of copper and N,N'bis(5chlorosalicylidene)ethylenediamine was synthesized and its crystal structure was determined by singlecrystal Xray diffraction method. The crystal belongs to triclinic system, space group P1- with a=0.832 85(1) nm, b=0.951 70(4) nm, c=1.093 04(4) nm, α=115.130(2)°, β=94.694(2)°, γ=101.127(2)°,V=0.756 42(4) nm 3, formula C_ 16H_ 12Cl_ 2CuN_ 2O_ 2, M_ r=398.72, Z=2,Dc=1.751 g/cm 3. In the complex, the copper atom is coordinated by two nitrogen atoms and two phenolic oxygen atoms in a squareplane manner.
