Abstract
Slurry with good flowability and high solid content was prepared with micro-sized alumina powder and AM-MBAM gel.Hollow alumina ceramic reflectors were then fabricated by gel-casting using the prepared slurry. The effects of dispersant, initiator, monomer, solid content and other key factors on the gel-casting preparation of alumina ceramic reflectors were investigated. The results show that when the contents of dispersant, initiator and monomer are 0.4%,0.08% and 7%(mass fraction) respectively, the viscosity of the slurry reaches 710 mPa·s while its solid content is 55%(volume fraction). And,the alumina ceramic reflector prepared from this slurry shows a smooth surface and compact structure.
