Strategic Transformation of Synthetic Development of the Ecological-Economic Corridor in West China

The Hexi Corridor is regarded as an ecological economic corridor in west China. It is important to keep the ecological safety and economic safety in west China and even the whole country. It is an important part of the emphasized region in the strategy of “two zones and one region” in the Great Development of the Western Region. And it is the only entitative ecological economic corridor in constructing the west region. It needs ten strategic transformations of the synthetic economic development to construct this ecological economic corridor well, they are to change the “Ancient Silk Road” into the “New Eurasian Continental Bridge Corridor”, the exploitative immigrant corridor into an ecological emmigrant corridor, the grain production corridor into a meat production corridor, the seed gathering corridor into a grass planting corridor, the simplex mining industrial corridor into the synthetic ecological industrial corridor, the string like urban corridor into an ecological urban corridor, the corridor in shortage of water resources into a water saving ecological corridor, the corridor with the vulnerable ecology into an “ecological regenerating corridor”, the corridor of the vital pathway for battles into a strategic corridor, and the “vulnerable economic corridor” into a “healthy ecological economic corridor”. After implementing the transformations, the credit of the Silk Road will be able to be rebuilt, and the Hexi Corridor will be able to be constructed as a scientific and technological, water saving, extroverted and healthy ecological economic corridor.
