Abstract

Objective To investigate the fundus oculi manifestations and related factors of diabetic retinopathy (DR) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods Fundus of 102 Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were examined in the community clinic, then were analyzed according to their blood glucose, saccharification hemoglobin, blood pressure,BMI,course of the disease and so on.Results Among 102 cases with type 2 diabetes mellitus, fundus showed DR in 44 patients (43.14%),including 39(38.23%) simple DR patients and 5 (4.90%) proliferative DR;30(29.41%) with arteriosclerosis of retina;6 cases (5.88%) with vitreous opacity;3(2.94%) with diabetic cataract. In the disease course within 5 years,5~10 years and more than 10 years,DR prevalence was 30.4%,57.1% and 91.7% respectively.Saccharification hemoglobin of DR patients was higher than that of non DR patients, there was significant difference (P0.05).Conclusion DR is the most common complication in patients with diabetes mellitus, its incidence increase with the disease course of diabetes mellitus lengthening. The disease course and saccharification hemoglobin raising are the important risk factors of DR.
