Abstract
Migraine headache is caused by the countercurrent of channel qi to disturb Qingdao's function, resulting from either external infection or internal injuries, including outside cold, upper deficiency and lower excess, gastrointestinal dysfunction. There are deficiency or excess reason, the former due to cold and pent-up phlegm and the later the deficiency of qi and marrow that lead to countercurrent of qi and blood, blood stasis in channel and dystrophy of brain.Clinic symptoms can be mainly classified into four kinds:hyperactivity of liver-yang,qi-stagnancy and blood stasis, phlegm turbidity and the deficiency of liver and kidney.Under the prerequisite of pain-relieving,the treatment is based on eliminating pathogenic and tonifying deficiency. In clinic treatment, the traditional Chinese medicine medicinal broth,self-made prescription and Chinese patent medicine are used dialectically.Special treatment in TCM such as acupuncture, manipulation and massage,or Chinese and western medicine combination treatment could be more effective. In the future, research on clinical traditional Chinese medicine should be based on international evaluation standard, which combine the characteristics of both traditional Chinese medicine to unify the standardization and differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine.
