Abstract

Objective To determine the therapeutic effectiveness of plasmapheresis on primary macroglobulinemia. Methods Haemonetic V50 blood cell separation machine was used to carry out plasmapheresis in 6 patients, the amount of plasmapheresis was approximately 1400ml per person each time, along with chemotherapy. The main laboratory indices were observed before and after treatment. Results After plasmapheresis, plasma viscosity and abnormal monoclone IgM decreased markedly. Conclusion Plasmapheresis can markedly decrease plasma viscosity and is an effective treatment for macroglobulinemia.
