Abstract
Objective To explore clinical efficacy and safety of escitalopram in treatment of generalized anxiety disorder. Methods The patients were administered with escitalopram for 8 weeks, and evaluated with Hamilton Depressive Scale(HAMD),Clinical Global Impression Scale(CGI),and Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale(TESS) before treatment and 2,4,6 and 8 weeks after treatment. The effects was assessed by the reducing score rate of general score of HAMD.Results HAMD scores and CGI scores decreased dramatically from the second week(P0.01) and the response rate was 80.49% after treatment. The common adverse reactions were lack of appetite(14.63%) and nausea(7.32%).Conclusion Escitalopram is effective and safe in treatment of generalized anxiety disorder.
