The research on the relationship between D-type personality and social support inpatients with insomnia

Objective To explore the relationship of D-type personality and social support in patients with insomnia. Methods The D-type personality questionnaires and the perceived social support scale were provided to 49 patients with sleep disorders and 82 healthy controls.Results Negative emotion factor score of insomnia patients with D-type personality were higher than the nomal control group(P0.01),social inhibition score was no difference between the groups(P0.05);The three dimensions of scores of the total scores of social support,the support from families and the support out of family of insomnia patients were significantly lower than the control group,there was statistically significant difference(P0.05);The two-dimensional of D-type personality of the negative emotions(NA)and social inhibition(SI)and the social support scale scores showed a significant negative correlation(correlation coefficient -0.311 to -0.469).Conclusion The majority of patients with insomnia may be suffering from the D-type personality and have had social support.The study showed that the D-type personality correlated with social support.
