Abstract
The influences of character of cushion on the entire foundation in the rigid-soft-pile composite foundation were investigated.Three dimensional nonlinear finite element analysis on the rigid-soft-pile composite foundation was finished by using the Drucker-Prager yield criterion and ANSYS procedure. The effects of thickness and modulus of cushion on the rigid-soft-pile composite foundation settlement and the axial stress of long-short pile were analyzed through nine rigid long piles and sixteen soft short piles. The results were given as follows. The composite foundation settlement increases with the thickness increasing of cushion. The nonlinear relation between the thickness of cushion and composite foundation settlement is given. These conclusions have reference value for engineering.
