Yaosui's Theory and Writing of Prose and His Efforts on the Writing among Literary Circle of Yuan Dynasty

Abstract

From the early years to the middle century of Yuan Dynasty, a fter cons tant efforts made by many man of letters on exploring the relations between writ ing and theory, to make theory in harmony with style, and his unbroken efforts o n the processing of unification of theory and writing, the prose-writing of this period was eventually on the way of imitating Han Dynasty, Han Yu and Ou Yangxi u. Yao sui was a very influential figure during the integration of literature in the South and North of China. His prose-writing emphasized on disclosing truth, restoring in the old-fashioned writing style, on the harmony of writing and the ory, meanwhile he never stopped trying to pursuit his own style. His efforts pav ed the way for the shaping of ideas that writing was in service of the managemen t of national affairs; prose-writing should look for its roots in the Qin, Han, Tang and Song Dynasty. Furthermore, his efforts contributed to the eventual form ing of the tradition that literary grace co-existing with literary creating.
