Abstract
Objective To investigate the features of the occlusion pattern in patients with cracked tooth syndrome(CTS).Methods 79 CTS patients(CTS Group) during the period from September 2004 to April 2005,and 268 university student volunteers(Control Group) were included.Study casts were obtained for all 347 participants and occlusion patterns were compared. Results ①Distribution of teeth suffered from CTS in CTS group,of which 23 were maxilary first molars,14 mandibular first molars,12 maxillary second molars,11 mandibular second molars,8 maxillary first premolars,7 maxillary second premolars,1 mandibular first premolar, mandibular second premolar, mandibular third molar and maxilary third molar,respectively.②Compared with control group, the ratios of anterior deep over-bite,deep over-jet,distocclusion and the third molar cross-bite were higher in CTS Group(P0.05) while the ratio of posterior reversal cross-bite was lower in CTS Group(P0.05).Conclusion The ratios of distocclusion, anterior deep over-jet,deep over-bite and the third molar cross-bite were higher in CTS patients.
