Abstract
This paper aims at overcoming the short-comings of SWOT analysis by K. J. Andrews, and con-structing a general approach about strengths ? weaknesses ? opportunities and threats analysis that can be used in all branches of strategic research .As an improved approach to SWOT analysis by K. J. andrews, this paper proposes the contents of elements analysis ? structures analysis and processes analysis in strength-weakness analysis , the basic structure of the approach and the contents of opportunity-threat analysis. At the end of this paper some im-portant and notable things when using the new SWOT analysis are underlined.
