Formation Mechanism of Pre-service Teachers' Professional Competence Based on the Professional Standards for Secondary School Teachers

Improving pre-service teachers' professional competence is a fundamental task of higher teacher education. Teachers' professional competence is very special because the aim of this profession is to solve practical problems of education and teaching. In the Secondary School Teachers' Professional Standards( Trial),professional competence of teachers is divided into six areas which support each other reciprocally and develop with each other. As pre-service teachers,normal school students should participate in study activities with initiative and involve professional practice with reflection to improve their own professional competency. Faculty advisors should give support to students via creation of a learning environment conducive to the growth of students' teaching competency. The formation mechanism of different field of teaching competency has its own characteristic and needs students make arduous efforts together with their advisor.
