Abstract

The development of the local education experienced two stages: the formation stage in Western Han Dynasty during which scholar officials were made as the mark, and the development stage in Eastern Han Dynasty, during which period the local education began to develop both in the borders and in the inner land. The county scholars and their sub-officials shouldered the responsibility.
