Abstract

In order to reduce differential settlement of foundation, the paper aims at proposing optimum design methods of subgrade and foundation based on differential settlement control for subgrade, composite foundation and composite pile foundation.Bearing rigidity of subgrade, composite foundation and composite pile foundation should be optimized in plane of pile foundation, and numerical calculation model of bearing rigidity optimized by authors were built up.Consequently, result of these methods to control differential settlement can be analyzed.Bending moment of foundation on subgrade, composite foundation and composite pile foundation reduced 80% averagely, and differential settlement reduced 75%-90% averagely through optimum design methods. The goal of zero differential settlement was reached approximately.Result of numerical computation shows that the methods above could reduce internal force of foundation and differential settlement significantly, and could be used for reference by engineering project.
