Abstract

Based on the synthetic study of field outcrops, drilling section data, charts drawn in rooms, and data of stratigraphic correlation, the authors propose that the paleogeographic pattern of Ordos Basin was a fan fluvial sedimentary system at Jurassic Fuxian Stage. The deposition of Fuxian Formation was controled by five river valleys closely related to paleogeomorphology. There were fans undoubtfully at Jurassic Fuxian Stage and the fans located in Ganshan and Qingxi river valleys show the progradating characteristic .
