Abstract

In order to learn about urban heat island distribution and its influence to high temperature during unusual high temperature and drought period in summer of 2006 in Chongqing,high resolute numeric model was used to simulate the urban heat island.The results showed that TAPM model could simulate the urban heat island distribution during the urban and suburb,so it had great ability to simulate urban heat island of Chongqing.The highest heat island was located in Shapingba district,east of Zhongliang hill.This was mainly because of dense buildings,industries and isolated wind velocity field in it.Along the river area of Jiangbei,Yuzhong,Nanan,Jiulongpo,Dadukou formed connected high heat island area,these area are all old city with high urbanization.The high temperature harm in night in urban increased because of the form of urban heat island.Because of rugged terrains,the urban heat island distribution was affected by urban,hills and rivers etc.at the same time.
