Abstract

For a long time, the traditional design of industrial manipulator lacks standard design scheme evaluation, which leads to a failure to use plentiful design resources and experience effectively. Therefore,an evaluation method of conceptual design scheme of industrial manipulator was proposed in this paper. It based on Axiomatic design theory, used design elements of industrial manipulator, and then implemented the reasoning process of industrial manipulator conceptual design scheme evaluation. Based on the above theories and methods,a prototype system is developed. And an example of industrial manipulator conceptual design scheme is evaluated for validating the feasibility of the theories and methods. The results show that the scheme evaluation method proposed in this paper can optimize the design process. Its formal description of the reasoning process makes it readily manipulated by computers. The method makes some useful exploration for the design process optimization of industrial manipulator.
