Abstract
Objective To study the clinicopathological characteristics of breast cancer in order to improve diagnosis and treatment level. Methods The clinical data of 869 breast cancer patients in our hospital from 2001 to 2009 were retrospectively reviewed. The hormone receptors and HER-2 were detected by SP immunohistochemistry, and analyzed by breast cancer clinicopathological characteristics. Results Most breast cancer cases were among 40-49 and 50-59 years old.The major pathological type was non-special type invasive carcinoma(80.2%).Patients were mainly identified at stageⅠor Ⅱ,which accounted for 80.1%.The rate for node-negative tumor was 60.4%.The positive expression rates of ER,PR and HER-2 were 66.9%,69.5% and 39.7%,respectively.The ER-positive and PR-positive rates positively correlated with age(P0.05).However,HER-2 status was not associated with age. Conclusion The incidence of breast cancer had increased among younger patients. The early tumors stage allows breast-conserving surgery. Moreover, high percentage of hormone receptor-positive tumors permits the prevalence of endocrine therapy.
