Abstract

Objective:To study the method of culture of olfactory ensheathing cells from olfactory mucosa. Methods: Adult mouse olfactory mucosa was obtain, and high purification of olfactory ensheathing cells was obtained using the method of the differing rates of attachment of the various cells type, then identify the cells with immunofluorescence and observe the shape of cells. Results: The OECs could be purified to about 80 percent purity by the method, identified by immunofluorescence of GFAP and P75 with hoechst; there were many fusiform, bipolar, tripolar cells and a few multipolar cells under a phase contrast microscope. Conclusion: OECs can be acquired from adult mouse olfactory mucosa successfully,it providet important experience, when OECs are cultured from human olfactory mucosa.
