Abstract
Objective To investigate the noise level at workplace and the hearing status of exposed workers in a container manufacturing plant. Methods The noise level was surveyed systematically at workplaces and the hearing status of 100 exposed workers and 103 non-exposed workers (as control) were examined with electronic audiometry. The heating-loss level of workers between these two groups was comparied. Results The noise level at the workplaces is not compliant with national exposure limits in 2007.Both left and right ear was damaged. The heating-loss rate or the average hearing threshold of varied Hertz in (2 000~6 000 Hz) of exposed workers were found higher compared with the control's (P0.01).The highest was at the point of 4000 Hertz[left:(31.80±1.12) dB,right:(32.05±1.17) dB].Conclusion High level noise can cause hearing-loss,especially at the point of 4 000 Hz.It is necessary to take engineering control measures in the workplaces while the personal protection should be given.
