Abstract
The production of benzaldehyde by liquid-phase oxidation of toluene with hydrogen peroxide over Co-VPO catalysts was studied under mild conditions. The effects of amount of catalyst, reaction temperature, reaction time, amounts of hydrogen peroxide and solvent on the reaction were investigated.Under the conditions of catalyst 0.4 g,H2O2 12 mL,solvent 12 mL,90 ℃ and 4 h,the conversion of toluene reached 19.8% and the selectivity for benzaldehyde was 60.4%.The catalysts have been characterized by UV-Vis spectra, and a reaction mechanism is proposed.
